Females: if you go out dancing, do you often take off your shoes and dance barefoot?

Depends on where I am and what company I am in. At a wedding where I know most people and the floor is relatively clean, yes. In public at a club, no way.

All the time...my feet are claustrophobic..they love to be free
Reply:Yes all the time.
Reply:Depends where...if it%26#039;s one of these nasty places where people just toss their cigs on the ground to put them out, nah, I%26#039;m cool.
Reply:No someone might step on ur foot! OUCH!!!!!!
Reply:Moi???? Never!!! This, to me, is the epitome of crassness. Once a Lady, always a Lady. . . and Ladies never lose their poise in public.
Reply:WHEN YOUR ON THE DANCE FLOOR FOR HOURS YES WE DO TAKE OFF OUR SHOES---
Reply:yea i seen ppl do dat a lot
Reply:only sometimes

usually when they r drunk
Reply:sounds like you mean clubbing. No, I never take off my shoes. We don%26#039;t go to places where shoeless dancing would be appropriate.
Reply:yes, whenever I dance I have to take off my shoes or else it doesn%26#039;t feel right. I don%26#039;t dance outside, only at parties.
Reply:you bet... high heels get hard to dance in hour after hour
Reply:of corse
Reply:I used to. When I was a teen I was taller than all the boys in my class, so I learned to dance with my shoes off. Now that I%26#039;m adult and don%26#039;t have that problem I learned it%26#039;s safer with shoes ON. I don%26#039;t get so many broken toes that way.
Reply:of course!!!

have you tried to dance in heels??

well one hint of advice

DONT!!

lol

but its kinda dangerous you could step on someones feet and you could break your ankle easier
Reply:at school dances, yes, because my feet start to hurt from dancing in high heels.
Reply:yes cus your shoes kill you and I hate that my shoes are the cause of me not dancing and dancing with my bf
Reply:Sure. Depends on the situation. Nylons are slippery on hard wood. And you can get your feet stepped on. But, hey, that%26#039;s life in the fast lane.
Reply:Sometimes, and sometimes not because it really depends on the type of song and the type of shoes. Like for example:

If i was slow dancing, and wearing high heels, i would really have to take my shoes off.

ex: If i was hip-hopping (lol) i would definitley take my high heels off so i can dance.
Reply:SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A FETISH...SHOES SHOULD ALWAYS BE WORN ON A DANCE FLOOR/PUBLIC ARENA
Reply:I haven%26#039;t worn shoes for ten years, so yes I dance barefoot but I don%26#039;t have any shoes to take off :)
Reply:yeah thas kinda typical cuz we all get tired dancing in high heels after a while so its better bare foot more comfortable..
Reply:only in the rain
Reply:No, well at least I don%26#039;t have to. It all depends on how good you are at dancing and how balanced you are. Some people can dance in heels other can%26#039;t, it all depends.

I just got on pointe shoes for dance and they Kill my feet. what do i do about it???

i have very sensative feet..... i need some kind of pad to put in the bottom of it.

I just got on pointe shoes for dance and they Kill my feet. what do i do about it???
To help minimize pain and injuries from dancing en pointe, many dancers use lamb%26#039;s wool %26quot;toe pads%26quot; or gel pads like the %26quot;Ouch Pouch%26quot; to cover their toes in the box area. Wads of lamb%26#039;s wool and small gel pads are also used in certain areas where a dancer feels the most pain. Many dancers also use sports tape to tape around their toes in order to further prevent blisters and bruised toenails. However, professional dancers often use only tape, a small amount of paper towelling, or nothing at all, because they prefer greater freedom of movement and sensitivity.
Reply:Dance and dance and dance and dance. Then dance some more. The more you dance in the on point shoes, the more calloused your feet will become and the less pain you will feel.
Reply:Make sure that you are using the gel pad that u put at the top of the shoe.(where your toes are.) I am a dancer myself and shoes can get really irritating!!! Especially when u dance a lot!
Reply:Usually in dance....we tend to live by the %26quot;no pain, no gain%26quot; rule. Yes pointe will hurt and your feet will swell, ache, blister and feel like they are on fire but eventually the swelling goes down, the aches go away as your strength gains, blisters turn into calluses...things do get better with time. As far as gel pads go I would not recommend it. I am to be assuming correctly that you are a beginner on pointe? If you are you still need to feel the floor to make sure you are withholding proper placement of your feet and positioning as well...Gel pads are great once you have been on pointe for a while. I would wait at least 1/2 a year to put gel pads into my shoes if I were you because you don%26#039;t want to jeopardize your technique!!! After your pointe class try a menthol rub and gently massage it onto your feet ...Wear slides or flip flops to let your feet air out. And yes, working the shank and box of your shoe may help. But it also may be that your shoes aren%26#039;t fitting you correctly so I would also have that checked out as well....It will take time, but for the most part, the end result is being able to dance and execute moves beautifully and gracefully on pointe! Its a wonderful feeling!! Happy Dancing !!!
Reply:When I graduated to point I used cotton balls it helped some of the stress on my toes.
Reply:My advice, throw them away now, or start saving money for a Podiatrist later on. I use to dance in my sock feet until I developed a spur in the ball of my foot. I went to Wal-mart and bought insoles and started wearing athletic shoes. Wearing pointy shoes for a very long time will cause your toes to overlap and bunions.
Reply:Don%26#039;t they put some cotton wool in the toe of the shoe. Your dance teacher should be able to make some suggestions.
Reply:well of course it all depends do the bottom of your toe hurt or what but of course i would recamend the gell pad for women that cover the toe soul and heel
Reply:You better get rid of them or you will have corns
Reply:u need toe pads every1 teh gels and lambswool try this http://www.discountdance.com/frame_set.p... and u can definetly find 1 or try http://www.pillowsforpointes.com/ those are the best 1s
Reply:get a bigger size
Reply:If you got new shoes, they%26#039;re probably not broken in yet. You should start by squishing the box gentilly, and working the shank back and forth. Also when you put on the shoes, do releves, and walk around in demi pointe as high as you can. This will suck for a while but it will stretch out the shoe.

As for padding, I suggest Ouchpouches by bunheads http://www.bunheads.com.

No matter what you do, pointe is never %26quot;comfortable%26quot; you just learn to ignore the pain.
Reply:They are going to hurt in the beginning, but you will get used to it if you keep going. Make sure you have the correct fit, and start with only 5-10 minutes at the barre.

When I first started, I used lambs wool and then ouch pouches. Now all I use is masking tape, (much cheaper than sports tape, and gives you more movement) on three toes and foam spacers between my first and second toes and my fourth and pinkie toes to prevent bunions and corns.
Reply:Ahhhhhh dont wear them!
Reply:The wrong pointe shoe can cause much unwanted pain. Shoes that are too long or too wide can cause the foot to move inside the shoe. This will cause blisters from the shoe rubbing against your foot. Pointe shoes should fit like a glove. The box of the shoe is supposed to be an extension of your foot. The heel of the shoe should fit like skin. The shoe should need a little tug to get it on to be sure you have a good snug fit. always make sure the pointe shoe fits correctly and feels good when you are up on pointe. Your foot will slide forward when you get up on your toes if they are too big.

**** Here are some basic rules to follow when fitting for pointe shoes:

1- Minimal to no wrinkles should be in the box area of the shoe.

2- You should not be able to fit your pointer finger inside the edge of the box.

3- Pointe shoes should fit like a glove.

4- The heel of the shoe should feel like skin.

5- Always try both shoes on your feet.

(There is no right and left foot with pointe shoes)

6- You should not be able to move your foot around inside the shoes.

7- Make sure you stand on pointe completely to see how your shoes feel.
Reply:unfortunately, they are painful even if you don%26#039;t have sensitive feet. If you want to keep dancing, fortunately your feet get used to it...if you don%26#039;t mind what your toes may look like in a couple of years.
Reply:sorry doll, but if you want to keep dancing you%26#039;re going to have to work through that. not a lot you can do about it, maybe pad it with a bit of cotton wool but that doesn%26#039;t really help, simply put....it hurts...and it will for a long time....after a while you won%26#039;t feel it as badly though...give it time
Reply:When I used to be on pointe, I used lamb%26#039;s wool for my feet to kind of ease the pain. You have to dance a lot in a new pair of pointe shoes in order to break them in. Or you can use your hands and bend the shoes into a pointe yourself. Just use some padding and tape up your toes and you%26#039;ll be fine.
Reply:First, have your teacher check their fit.

If they fit ok, then start working in them every day, just for 5-10 minutes at a time, always at the barre. Your feet will get tougher fast.
Reply:don%26#039;t be a slave to fashion..if they%26#039;re uncomfortable..toss %26#039;em
Reply:get used to it or quit dancing
Reply:It really depends on what your problem is. Did they tell you at your fitting that you have anything you need to watch out for? Also, what brand of shoes did you get?

They are going to hurt, and possibly for a long time. Especially if you can%26#039;t get your padding worked out. Have your teacher check the fit and to troubleshoot where your problems are that could be causing pain.

If you got a regular pointe shoe, consider returning them for Gaynor Mindens. They are far more supportive and comfortable than standard pointe shoes. I couldn%26#039;t live without mine. They are more expensive, but they last longer and you dont really have to break them in.

If you are simply sore, then yes, it will take time to break in your shoes and your feet. You can try an ouchpouch as mentioned before, but it won%26#039;t alleviate poor fitting shoes.

If your big toe is shorter than your second, then you%26#039;ll need a pad on your big toe to make it even.

If your joints are rubbing funny, use a molefoam tape or a corn pad over the spot. If you are getting blisters, sinply put athletic tape in the spots that rub.

If your toes are bunching together, get some toe spacers or use make-up wedges cut to fit your foot. This is very important as it can help to prevent bunions in later life.

Be sure your toenails are cut short - you will probably have to do this once a week at least. And make sure you aren%26#039;t dancing more than a few minutes a week, and only at the barre, to start off with.

If you are still having severe pain in a few months, talk to your teacher again or to the dance store and see what they can recommend for you.

Good luck and have fun!!
Reply:Just get some other shoes
Reply:Ram your head into a wall really hard and then you won%26#039;t notice the pain in your feet
Reply:sry to break it to you, but they hurt like h*ll, yes it satinks but you will built up a resistance to it, just take it slow and have fun!
Reply:When I had gotten pointe shoes they killed me also, but if you keep on wearing them and using them you%26#039;ll get used to it.
Reply:Sheepskin--but how old are you? Please post. It%26#039;s possible to be too young to go on pointe.
Reply:well use toe tape, ouch pouches, gel pads, lambs wool. whatever you find works best.
Reply:return them get more comfortable 1s that r still stylish but com4table
Reply:start a trend and get new shoes.
Reply:Get used to it, or put some kind of pad in the bottom of it.

Not for you.

Do you take off your shoes to dance?
traditionally in modern classes students are barefoot, but that can be difficult for beginners who havent developed calluses, they have developed special shoes that are skin color to give the illusion to the audience that the dancer is dancing barefoot
Reply:umm. it really does depend on what style of dance you are doing and if you would like to take your shoes off. I also depends on the choreographer and the dance. I think you should check with the teacher first.

I take tap and jazz dance classes and during tap my tap shoes make me slip and its really hard to do the steps
Scuff up the bottoms of the shoes a little by dragging your feet on concrete. When the soles are too smooth, they are slippery.
Reply:i do acro team and what really seems to work for me so i dont slip is sprayinghairspray on the sole of the shoe...it really gives u a extra grip try it before competitions or performances to make sure it works for you...

good luck. Report It

Reply:No rosin %26amp; no hairspray for tap shoes. Use the rubber grips on the bottom of your shoes as a stopper. Get up on the balls of your feet more %26amp; you won%26#039;t slide as much. The more you wear your tap shoes, the less slippery they will become, but don%26#039;t ruin them on concrete. Report It

What kind of shoes do I wear to my 8th grade dance?

I have an 8th grade dance coming up soon and it is kind of formal, so girls are obliged to wear dresses. In 7th grade I had a bad experience at my friends party because everyone kept stepping on my maryjanes. ur toes could be covered but the rest just have a strap so ur feet arent totally covered

Go to pac sun or payless or some store that sells shows. [I like pac sun best]

Go to their shoes and look for the ballet flats.

They have a whole variety, I have every pair from pac sun! Theres some with rainbow hearts, some with gray hearts, some with stars, some polka dot ones, and they all have a little bow on them! They are so cute and you can wear them with a dressy or casual outfit.

The ones I have are around $20 or $30 from pac sun. You can get them for cheaper at target or payless.

By the way, they are really comfortable and will keep your feet warm, even without socks!

Hope I helped!

In a few months I have a school dance (not a prom), the first %26quot;wear a dress%26quot; one that I%26#039;ve gone to. According to my friend who is older than me and has gone to this dance before, girls really dress up......nice shoes, dress, make-up, up-dos, ect....but not as dressy as a prom. Well, I found a halter dress that goes just past the knee, has a small amount of barely noticable netting at the bottom, and is white with a floral (but not grandma floral) brown and salmon design, and a segment in the upper middle area is brown. The dress itself is fine, but what shoes should I wear with it? I found shoes here:

http://www.kohls.com/products/product_pa...

(it%26#039;s the brown one that there isn%26#039;t a picture of)

but I have a few questions. One are they reasonable/dressy enough for a dance? I can walk in them fine, and they match the dress. Also, what other shoes might you reccomend? heel height/style/ect

What type of shoes should I wear with this dress/to this dance -explaination inside-?
Go with a shoe that is a t-strap with minimal embellishments...

Here are a couple of ideas (the prices are high, so these are just suggestions on style):

http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/22243533/c/...

These are my favorite because they are taupe...which compliments brown and coral....

http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/20902960/c/...

Heel height is up to you, but considering the dress is just below the knee...I would go with atleast a 2 inch heel. If you are really tall...go with a kitten heel. No more than an inch.

Jewelry? NO...and I mean NO necklace. Halter styles are designed to bring the focus to your chest area and up. Don%26#039;t break up the %26quot;flow%26quot; by adorning your neck. Instead, some simple earrings that dangle would be great. Look for earrings that have a little sparkle, but not overkill. Try and find a pair that incorporate the coloring in the dress. Maybe some beads or amber stones. A nice dangle of about 2 inches would be plenty. Bracelets are where you can have fun! Mix it up with a few bangles.

Hope this helps!!

P.S....the shoes you picked out are really cute and go with it if you feel comfortable in them. I just wanted to give you a few alternatives. GOOD LUCK!
Reply:That shoe is gorgeous and is dressy enough. If u go for strappy high heels you would look like you are going to the prom. Anyway for the jewelry i would not wear a necklace but i would wear a bracelet and earrings.
Reply:it%26#039;s a dance so make sure you can dance in the shoes you get.
Reply:Can you upload a picture of your dress or find one online that%26#039;s similar? The shoes from Khol%26#039;s look more suitable for a day out strolling on the pier than a night time gala.

How about any of these?

http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I...

http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I...

And if you%26#039;re wearing a brown dress you could always go for a gold tone like this:

http://www.rampage.com/page/items.deptid...

Too matchy matchy is no good.

As far as jewelry goes, I%26#039;d go with some nice dangly earrings. Skip the necklace. Halters don%26#039;t work well with necklaces since they rub against the dress in the back and they will compete with the the halter%26#039;s line around your neck. Too complicated.
Reply:The dress sounds cute and I think the shoes you chose would look great. Not to dressy but not overly casual. Shoes like that can look dressy or casual depending on what you wear with them. Another option is a cute wedge. As for jewelry, with a a halter neck some people say no necklace, it looks too busy, but I think a nice long double strand necklace would look great. Maybe a salmon color or even white/off-white. Add a few bangles, not to many, but since the dress code is more of a semi-formal be a little funky and fun with your jewelry, oh and you can rock it with a great pair of earrings. Halter dresses emphasize the length of your neck so you can wear a more dangly earring:

(in the right colors of course)

(again with the colors)

http://claires.com/product.asp?name=prod...

http://claires.com/product.asp?name=prod...

Next top it off with a great clutch in a bronze/chocolate brown color and some glitz to it:

http://claires.com/product.asp?name=prod...

Good luck, hope this helps! Have fun at the dance!
Reply:wel wid a holter dress i usually wear a small subtle necless and a few bracelets! for shoes i would wear ballet pumps or nice cute strappy highheals!

have fun!!
Reply:im too lazy to read and you should wear a black dress black shoes black pearls black clip for your hair and a black coat.
Reply:I wouldn%26#039;t get the brown shoes actually. I%26#039;d get black. The shoes themselves are SO CUTE!! Since it%26#039;s a halter don%26#039;t wear a necklace, but wear some nice silver pink and brown bracelets. Some silver hoops would look cute. Definettly wear mascara, UR SKIN COLORED FOUNDATION, some sparkly powder (All over ur body), and some pink or brown eye shadow.
Reply:yes they are dressy enough and If I would recommend ne other dressy shoes I would say the high heels like looks like a pair of flip flops but there high heels. Good luck findin the right shoes.
Reply:Wow...i love those shoes!Maybe in white, since the dress has white, and no black. Brown would be good too.

If you can%26#039;t get those shoes, wedges would be great.It%26#039;s the new style, and they%26#039;re very dressy, and would go great with a floral dress.Something like:

http://www.famousfootwear.com/product.as...

As for jewelry,I wouldn%26#039;t wear a necklace because of the neckline halters have.

I would go for a bracelet!Maybe something like:http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?cat...

Bangles would go well. Or perhaps a more slinky bracelet you have at home.

Have fun at the dance! The dress sounds gorgeous=]
Reply:Go with a solid colored thick heel. Maybe the heels that have a bow on then they cover your front an d back but the middle is out that way u really don%26#039;t have 2 paint u%26#039;re toes. u can find this at any mall Rave, Macey%26#039;s, Burlinton shoe facrtory, And Burlinton%26#039;s coat factory.

Where's the cheapest place to buy dance equipment like shoes and trousers?

i%26#039;m studying dance at college and need some equipment to make it easier for me to pratice our teacher keeps saying we need the right equipment to do the work propley.

Where%26#039;s the cheapest place to buy dance equipment like shoes and trousers?
either ask your teacher does he/she know of anywhere you could buy suitable clothing, or ring a dance studio in your area sometimes they have very good contacts, also dance supply shops or factory outlets. I was lucky enough to get a pair of second hand dance shoes in my size from my local dance wear shop for about a tenth of the price of new ones they had only been worn once for a dance recital and they looked brand new. Most dance wear shops I have been to have a lot of secondhand gear as well as new stuff. It is very important to get suitable fitting foot wear it is cheaper in the long run and is much healthier for your feet you need your feet for the rest of your life.
Reply:www.discoutdancesupply.com is amazing! I bought some leotards and shoes from them and am very impressed with their high quality and brand name products, range of sizes, low price, and quick delivery.
Reply:Ebay is one option...the only downside there%26#039;s a possibility the clothing/shoe won%26#039;t fit or are used. The New York Dancewear company offers a good-quality selection, despite their name. You can pick from the bottom of the barrel to the same dancewear worn by professional dancers. Believe me, it%26#039;s worth the extra few dollars for a more durable product (and you will wear your equipment out).

http://www.nydancewear.com/
Reply:I would say ebay for the outfits but for shoes i would save up and go and get good ones fitted from a shop, i know this probably isn%26#039;t what you wanted to hear but when dancing your feet are important and it%26#039;s a good idea to get the best dance shoes you can afford to protect your feet. Reeds of london are very good for balltedpointe shoes, the nike danzante shoes is good for modern dance and discount dance store is good for tap shoes. If you really wanted to get the shoes cheap, you could always go and get them fitted in a shop note the size and fitting then hunt ebay, alsotry kelkoo.co.uk, it compares prices for you.

good luck with the dancing ;-)

Would you recommend "dance now" character shoes?

they%26#039;re $19.99. this is the web address for them. http://www.discountdance.com/spframe_set...

Would you recommend %26quot;dance now%26quot; character shoes?
I love all character shoes. DD always has really great stuff so you should be fine. Personally, I like things with a taller heel (Capezio%26#039;s Manhattan), but those shoes look good.

They also sound really comfortable.
Reply:They look good but 20.00 character shoes will most likely not be all that comfortable and probably will not last al lthat long if you use them excessively. That one I know for a fact. What kind of shoes for Cape breton step dance??

I take irish stepdanceing, and I have ghillies, but i was told i needed hard soled shoes for Cape Breton step dance. Someone said sandals would work, but i was unsure exactly what kind. Does anyone have any ideas??

What kind of shoes for Cape breton step dance??
Hi,

I wasn%26#039;t familiar with Cape Breton, so had to look it up.

It appears to be what the studio I attend calls a %26quot;heavy jig%26quot; and you need %26quot;jig shoes%26quot; or %26quot;heavy jigs%26quot; to dance it. I personally recommends Corr%26#039;s Super Flexi (I have the sound blasting tips, too - they make a great sound). Those allow you to point and flex your foot because there is no heavy leather upper between the ball of the foot and the heel.

They are expensive, but you can find them on ebay and other dance sites on consignment, if you aren%26#039;t bothered by hand-me-downs. Our studio has a giant consignment shelf and shoes usually end up with 6 or 8 patrons before they are too worn to practice in.

Have Fun!

If I want to dance with a girl who is 2" taller than me, would dancing wearing shoes with lifts work for me?

I am 5%26#039;8%26quot; and she is 5%26#039;10%26quot;-we are becoming really close and potentially might get to date-ballroom/swing/salsa dancing is something I would like to do with her or anyone else I date-thanks for the input!

If I want to dance with a girl who is 2%26quot; taller than me, would dancing wearing shoes with lifts work for me?
I am 5%26#039;11%26quot; and a partner I dance with very frequently is about 5%26#039;8%26quot;. It doesn%26#039;t seem to matter, because he is a strong partner and we dance well together.
Reply:no, because she will probably wear high-heeled ballroom shoes. D%26#039;o. you%26#039;ll be right back where you started. unless you plan to wear heels too.
Reply:iD JUS KEEP iT TO REGULAR YU DONT NEED THEM BECUZ HEiGHT DONT MATTER
Reply:They might, but they%26#039;d also make you look unnaturally tall, they%26#039;d make you be awkward and you might trip, which would be worse, and then, it wouldn%26#039;t be you ... why not just be you? If she likes you that%26#039;s all you have to worry about, two inches doesn%26#039;t matter ... besides, she may wear two inch heals which means you have to put in four inch lifts ... it all gets silly ... just be you
Reply:I would advise not to wear those shoes...you can injure your self while dancing which is not what you want! The height difference does not really matter so much. It may feel awkward, but wearing those shoes would be worse.
Reply:Even 1 1/2%26quot; Latin shoes feel odd. The height difference isn%26#039;t a big deal.
Reply:don%26#039;t worry I%26#039;m 5%26quot; and my partner for tap dancing is 5%26quot;3

and when i put on my tap shoes I%26#039;m like the same height!!
Reply:In today%26#039;s shake, rattle and booble dance, you don%26#039;t need to lift yourself a few inches. But in traditional ballroom, you%26#039;ll look better as a couple if you use some kind of platform shoes. I bought 2 pairs, one almost flat and the other they call a tango pair. The tango pair made me look smashing after I got used to wearing it. I wore it for all but the fast moving cha cha and swing.

Tap shoes for dance lessons???
Black Oxfords. (;
Reply:Well, I reccomend Black Capezio tap shoes, with tap on both heel and toe. :)

You can get them from a dance store near you or just order them from.

Discountdance.com

That%26#039;s where the majority of dancers order from it%26#039;s a great place.

By the way Capezio is one of the leading dance brands worldwide. :)
Reply:I have Katz tap shoes. They come with toe taps and you have the heel taps put on.

What I would advise is to change the heel and toe taps for %26quot;Teletone%26quot; taps which have a sound board underneath and make a much nicer %26quot;professional%26quot; sound.

Enjoy your lessons. I%26#039;m not much good but I love it!
Reply:the best is different for every person. i would suggest going and trying on a few different styles at your local dancewear store. you might be best served by a jazz tap type shoe, which is a lace up oxford, but they are sort of pricey (retail of $65+). i would try some on and also ask your teacher before you buy shoes what they suggest, and what color they want you to have.

good luck!
Reply:Capezio, Bloch, Oxford
Reply:For a starter pair,I%26#039;d go with the basic black oxford.Bloch makes a good pair with adjustable taps front and back. You should get them w/the taps already attached, then you can adjust to get the sound you want.They%26#039;re sturdy and you%26#039;ll get lots of wear out of them%26gt;Expect to pay(depending on whether you%26#039;re an adult or a kid)upwards of 50 bucks

Go ahead,you Dancin%26#039; Fool!

:-)
Reply:black slip-ons are the best. BLOCH makes them and so does Capizio. they r pretty good one. i use bloch but it depends on the kind of floor at your dance studio. some taps sound better on different floors so just ask your teacher about wich one will sound better! good luck! i have been dancing for 9 years and i love tap the best! have fun!

Do you dance better or prefer to dance in shoes or no shoes?

none

Do you dance better or prefer to dance in shoes or no shoes?
believe me, it feels so much better without shoes, especially for ballet!!! In saying that, i would prefer bare feet anyday over the dreaded pointe shoe! but of course you can%26#039;t dance tap without the shoe.
Reply:bare foot. it is a lot more fun. with shoes u really cant see if your foot is pointed all the way.
Reply:I don%26#039;t dance, but I see a lot of people who are barefoot at any type of dance.
Reply:with shoes
Reply:I prefer wearing ballet slippers.
Reply:WHAT TYPE OF DANCE ?
Reply:w/ dancing shoes i would say
Reply:Barefoot...unless tap dancing. ;)
Reply:Neither, I dance in my socks for less friction and added protection. I also sometimes use those party ball of your feet sore prevention gel pads and slip between a layer of two socks. socks can also provide you the ability to point your feet easily and they arent as heavy as shoes. So unless your doing hip hop or rap or sumthing that needs shoes, id avise tryin socks.
Reply:Its a lot safer with shoes on~~
Reply:Barefoot of course, just like everything else.

I have always loved to dance and always felt I did better and was more comfortable barefoot.

How can I pamper my feet? I ballroom dance so I wear shoes that expose my feet?

I ballroom dance, and I love it, except the fact that everyone sees my feet. When I dance with my instructors, they look at my feet, instructing me how to move them and which way to put them. During competitions, judges look at my feet to judge my technique. Plus I look at my own feet when I am putting on my open-ended shoes.

Does anyone have good tips on how to pamper my feet? While putting on a spray on tan for a competition, I got the bad tanner on my toes and toenails. Now my toenails are stained yellowish-brown. I tried using those fingernail buffers and shiners and whatever, it helped a little, but it is still obvious they look like crap.

I would like to soften up my feet, make them look clean, shine my toenails, get rid of the ugly brown color on my nails, and make my feet look fantastic. Yeah, it is a lot, but does anyone have any tips on how to pamper my feet?

How can I pamper my feet? I ballroom dance so I wear shoes that expose my feet?
I%26#039;m thinking camoflauge for the discolored toenails. Why not paint them with a pale pink color polish. You can buy a couple and experiment. Most drugstores will allow you to return cosmetics you try and don%26#039;t like - you have to keep the receipt.

As for keeping feet soft and supple, it%26#039;s a question of moisture. You should use a heavy cream. Look in the drugstore for Eucerin and similar products located near it. Before be, give your feet a good scrubbing - try an apricot scrub to exfoliate the skin. Then slather on the cream. Put on a pair of socks over the cream. This should do the trick. You may find you don%26#039;t need to do this every night.
Reply:u should get a pedicure a foot massage and foot mosturizer..should help...and u should go to a spa
Reply:Take the bother out of trying to do all of this on your own, get an appointment to have a pedicure and foot massage. Tell the attendant what you want done to your feet.

Plan to stay at the Salon for at least one and a half hours. Enjoy.
Reply:use a foot brush and scru b then paint your nails
Reply:get a pedicure at least once a month. you could also get a foot spa for hom to do yourself in between pedis.
Reply:ok i think u should go get a PEDICURE and go to the SPA... and u dont have to go to them ALL the time... just go to either or once every couple months. and they will be great
Reply:Get a pedicure. They don%26#039;t cost a ton, feel great, and help all of the things you just talked about. If you don%26#039;t want a colored polish on you toes, then just ask for it in clear.
Reply:buy a foot spa for home use. soak your feet. clean around toenails, keep your nails polished and not long. Get a pedicure every 2 weeks. your feet will look and feel great.

Little Black dress for a dance- hair ideas and shoes?
I%26#039;d wear your hair up to accentuate your shoulders. And I really like these shoes.

Good luck!
Reply:Wear thin black straps for the shoes, and your hair curled at the ends, but the rest straight.
Reply:Shoes-

Since the dress is so plain, i would say something that makes the outfit pop! unless you want to do that with some accessories. metallic is good but no orange, you dont want to look Halloween! Flats are good or a small heel to be comfortable. you want to have fun at your dance

Hair- i think you should keep it partly down, no bun or high pony. but i like curly hair like wavy curly.

hope this helps you!

**i reccommend number 14**
Reply:Since the dress is more modern, I suggest you wear your hair straight and down. Since the dress is plain, wear shoes that have a color that pops (red, orange, green, ect.) or with a bold print. I think anything with an open toe would look good.

Pain on the outer calf of my left leg. Could this be because of bad shoes during Zumba (dance) classes?

I did a high intensity zumba session yesterday and felt this strange pain on my outside leg (calf). Have been wearing running shoes for dancing. Could this be the reason?

Pain on the outer calf of my left leg. Could this be because of bad shoes during Zumba (dance) classes?
Yes, the shoes, especially if they may be worn out could have something to do with the pain in your calf area.

I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.

What are some good women's shoes for In the Groove (dance game)?

What are some good women%26#039;s shoes for the dance game In the Groove? I%26#039;ve heard that Nike and Puma are both really good, but what shoe model, exactly? I just need some help for better, traction, better grip, better feel, and lighter weight other than my ordinary tennis shoes (which are too heavy, btw). I just need some recommendations.

What are some good women%26#039;s shoes for In the Groove (dance game)?
I would go to a dance supply store and get shoes that are for drill teams. Try on different kinds. They have some very lightweight styles that are flexible and have good grip. Everything you need. As far as brands, just try them all and see which one you prefer.

What would you wear for shoes to a dance?

plus i have a boroken toe and i normally wear flipflops around cuz

its hard to find shoes for my broken toe but the hard part is that its a dance but will i be able to dance wit flipflops on ?

What would you wear for shoes to a dance?
You may not be able to dance very long with a broken toe. Wear cute jeweled sandals with open toes, not flip flops.

I would call that trying to dance with a walrus.
Reply:Heels. Cute strappy 1s
Reply:well id normally wear sneakers or flats to a dance. for your toe, however, i think that you should wear the flipflop on the one foot, but put on whatever shoe you would wear if your toe was not broken, on the other foot. just dont stand in big crowds or whatever, so that people dont step on ur flop....

hope it helped!

♥/Me
Reply:something not as high and open toe. That means no spikes!
Reply:cute flats or any thing comfortable sorry about your toe good luck
Reply:Well I would be able to dance in flip-flops, but if you can%26#039;t, then ballet flats would be soooo great. They are very comfortable and they are extremely cute. Have fun!
Reply:go with the flip flops buy ones with sequins on the straps and a dress that matches
Reply:Since you have a broken toe, it may be difficult to be comfortable in a pair of shoes which have a closed toe. Instead, I would go with a sandal that either has a thick sole or a platform to cushion your feet all night. With a platform or thicker sole, the shoe will absorb more shock that something like a flip flop and your feet will not hurt as much should you choose to dance. A comfotable yet stylish option would be to go with a dressy sandal that either has one thick strap across the toes, or a dressy sandal with a thong strap that goes between your big toe and second toe. Something like one of the these:

If you don%26#039;t like heels or plaforms, then you could go with a styling flat like this:

http://www.stevemadden.com/item_image.as...

http://www.stevemadden.com/item_image.as...

Or if you love flip flops, go with a thong sandal instead for a dressier look, like this:

Reply:maybe wear ballet flats instead or something which is flat, comfortable, and covered at the toes to prevent any further injuries.
Reply:i wuold wear flats but im sure its not hard to dance w/ flip flops

I%26#039;m not sure if u have a shoe carnival where you live, but if u don%26#039;t, i%26#039;d just get the ones from ae.
Reply:i just had my 8th grade dance and had they hardest time looking for shoes.i reccomend anything open toed with not mush height like a open toed kitten heel.i wore those and they were great
Reply:I would go with flip-flops, If you have a broken toe. But buy some nice looking flip-flops, like jews on it or some that would match your dress. But If you have a broken toe dont buy some that you would have to squeeze in. Just wear flip-flops.
Reply:I would suggest ballet flats. They are cute, easy to put on, and they match with pratically everything. Plus, I don%26#039;t think they%26#039;ll be to hard on that broken toe of yours. If they are, I%26#039;ve seen ballet flats with open toes if that%26#039;s easier. Hope this helps!
Reply:You should buy one of those flats. They are cute.
Reply:I usually end up taking my shoes off to dance anyways, so wear whatever is comfortable for you. You can probably dance in flip flops, I%26#039;d be more concerned about dancing with a broken toe.

Shoes for a dance?

Our school%26#039;s 8th grade dance is coming up, it%26#039;s semi formal, and I have a really pretty black halter dress picked out. It has some rhinestones near the bust and is cut in a flowy way right above the knee. It is the perfect dress, but I have no idea what to wear for shoes. I%26#039;m tall, (about 5ft11) so if I wear any type of heel I%26#039;d be over 6ft (which I really don%26#039;t want), plus I like to dance, so I want something I can walk in.

Does anybody have any ideas? (pictures would be great!)

Shoes for a dance?
Get a pair of black ballet flats. That%26#039;d be really cute, and it doens%26#039;t add to your height!!

Something like this, or similar:

http://www.payless.com/Catalog/productde...

Hope I helped! :) Have fun at your dance.
Reply:if you don%26#039;t want to be like 6ft. then wear kitten heels. since your dress is black, you can pretty much wear any colour you want. Don%26#039;t go pointy. Go for a round peep toe or just round closed toe kitten heel.
Reply:im sorry i cant give you a picture, but!at wet seal there are these really cute black shoes there flat you can dance, walk, run too!
Reply:cute flats so you wont be so tall and you%26#039;ll be able to dance without breaking your ankle.
Reply:black flats

Does anyone know of a place in Las Vegas where I can resell my ballroom dance shoes?

Resell as in sell a pair that doesn%26#039;t fit you or resell as in you%26#039;re a distributor?

It is hard to sell a pair. What you can try is to set them out in a dance studio that you frequent (might want to ask a permission) with a price tag on it and with your phone number. Out of 3 unsuccesful pairs of mine I was able to sell only one. I ended up donating the other 2 to my school dance team.

You can try posting a classified ad in http://www.ballroomdancers.com

As for selling a whole bunch of them - try to find a dance attire store and see if they are interested in working with you. Also, there is a comp coming up at Las Vegas. Contact them and ask them if they need a shoe vendor.

Why not just put an add in the paper or put them on ebbay. Good luck with selling them.
Reply:try online. its probably a lot easier. you can definitely sell them on ebay

Hi there, does anyone know where i can buy dance shoes with heels for cheap , like wholesale place?

Sorry sweetie, but if you want good dance shoes, then you gotta pay the price for them. For brand I would advise Bloch for beginners and DancePro for experts/competetors. Prices would range around $35-$105 depending on the shoe:

~Pointe: $75-$85 (toe pads- $20)

~Tap: $60

~Jazz/ Hip hop: $60-$75

~Ballet: $50

I am a vegan and refuse to buy leather dance shoes does anyone know where i can find vegan ballet shoes?
hey nobody is asking you to eat the shoes or kill the animal.
Reply:Okay im pretty sure that most the dancers you%26#039;re around use leather slippers,

cuz i know most the girls i dance with wear canves and my mom wanted to but my some leather ones since they last longer and i was like nooo... i didn%26#039;t try to follow the crowd it was like an influence.. so i dared to tand out with my cute leather slipps...

if u want to look cute get some satin slipps they have them for slipps and pointe...

I%26#039;m proud to see you young dancers caring so much about the future and taking the time to be supportive of one another. Keep up the good work.

Out of paper :D
Reply:You can always buy canvas. I was under the impression that that was mostly cotton and not leather. You don%26#039;t need to buy leather shoes. Then when you go en pointe you get satin shoes so you don%26#039;t need to worry about killing animals.
Reply:get canvas that looks like leather or just plain canvas!!
Reply:you can but canvas ballet shoes... these don%26#039;t have leather i don%26#039;t think.

you could also get satin ballet flats.
Reply:Just get canvas ones. They don%26#039;t last as long as leather ones and always get holes in them and are constantly needing repair, but if you%26#039;re okay with that... They%26#039;re made from cotton and spandex and stuff so there were no animals harmed. You can get satin pointe shoes too, and that is really one of the only kinds of pointe shoes there are.

What's the best way to clean black patent leather shoes? Ballroom dance shoes?

I remember my mother used to clean our shoes with soap and water and then rub them with Vaseline, however, I don%26#039;t think that is an acceptable practice anymore. There are several products on the market made just for patent leather and are probably better for your shoes. Anyhow, here is a site that discusses how to care for patent leather as well as a product for caring for them.

What%26#039;s the best way to clean black patent leather shoes? Ballroom dance shoes?
My Mom use banana skins, and they worked.
Reply:Vaseline petroleum jelly is an inexpensive decent product. Just rub on a small amount and polish off with a soft cloth. You%26#039;ll get a nice shine and protective finish.
